December 15th: Group Ride, December 17th: Winter Meeting

 Hi all!

There will be a group ride on December 15th, hosted by Marty, at 10am. The location is either Cub Creek OR 8 Mile, depending on the snow. After this week, it looks like we'll have enough for 8 mile!
Please send us a direct message if you have any questions.

Then, on Tuesday, December 17th we will have our December members meeting at the Mountain Annex Building. Come at 5 for pizza, and then the meeting will start at 5:30pm and usually goes until 6:30-7:00PM. We'll talk about group ride schedules, the Bucket Run and more.

Please let us know if you can make the meeting so we can order enough pizza.

Unlock the Hut! November 24th 10am

Unlock the Hut with the Methow Valley Snowmobile Association!

Winter is here, and it’s time to officially kick off the snowmobiling season! Join us on our annual "Unlock the Hut" group ride.

We’ll meet at 8 Mile Sno-Park at 10:00 AM on Sunday, Nov 24th and set off together for a ride to the hut. Once there, we’ll unlock the doors to winter fun and light the wood stove. This the first opportunity of the winter to connect with fellow riders and celebrate the season.

This event is open to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned rider or just looking to explore our trails. Bring a snack, and maybe a thermos of something warm to sip!

We can’t wait to see you there—let’s make this winter one to remember!

Event Details:

  • When: Saturday, Nov 24th | Departure at 10:00 AM
  • Where: 8 Mile Sno-Park (TBD)

For more information, or if you have any questions, send us a direct message. See you on the trails!

2024 Hut Updates

 Update on November 1st 2024:

The Sweetgrass Hut and Black Pine Hut are ready to go for winter!

Back in the spring, Ty, Ali, Chase, Macy and Molly brought the Sweetgrass Hut back down from the hill. A HUGE thank you and shoutout to them for the hard work and towing capacity!!

This fall, Kent and Linda Schafer and friends of Lost River spuced up the Black Pine Hut to get it ready for the winter including pressure washing the outside, cleaning and re stocking firewood to keep us warm all winter!

Finally, MVSA President Willie Devin and MVSA members, Bob and Casey, towed the Sweetgrass hut back up to the top of the hill for those upcoming summer!

We want to thank each and every one of our volunteers for doing some amazing work and making sure our huts are clean and ready to go for the winters. Folks from all around enjoy these huts and its an honor to provide a safe shelter for our winter recreation users!

If you use the huts, consider making a donation to keep this type of work going and the huts maintained properly for years to come!!

See you all sooner than later, as the snow has already started to fall in the North Cascades!

MVSA members awarded at WSSA Winter Rendezvous

Snowmobiling in the North Cascades would not be where it is without the Stahl family, which is why it was no question when Craig Stahl was awarded Snowmobiler of the Year, and parents, Rich and Dolly Stahl, were awarded Couple of the Year.

Craig, Rich and Dolly have given time, resources and countless hours of work to foster the culture and rideability of snowmobiling in the Methow -from advocating for snowmobilers' rights to be on the land, to being key components to the Sweetgrass hut, clearing trails, and so much more.

A huge congrats to you three and thank you for contributing so much to this amazing club and region.

Please Respect our Lands!

HARTS PASS UPDATE **Wilderness areas are always closed to motorists**

MVSA received this photo of evidence of motorized travel in the Wilderness area from a local helicopter company on 03/17/24. This Wilderness area is adjacent to and accessible from Harts Pass.

This is EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING news given that we expect all snowmobilers to know where they are and follow the law. When this same thing happened 11/22/17, Harts Pass was closed to all motorists for the entire season.

This new instance may have repercussions. Please do not disrespect our sport and our community by breaking the law. Many of us in Okanogan have put in long volunteer hours to maintain good relationships with the forest service and all other user groups and actions like these take us backwards and create issues and even potential closures to motorized use.
